Veggies, particularly raw vegetables are incredibly beneficial. Raw green vegetables actually serve as the basis of nearly all life on this planet, or close to it. I can see the puzzled look on your face now, but consider for a moment that many organisms on this planet survive by either eating raw green vegetables or by eating an animal that eats raw green vegetables…so how important are veggies now you say?
The answer is.....they’re very important.
Eating vegetables raw
has even more advantages, but first let us see how veggies can benefit us.
• Eating vegetables is an easy and simple way to help a poor diet become healthier again. It is proven that vegetables contain a number of antioxidants that may help to stop certain cancers from forming in the body. Bet I got you attention now. These antioxidants, like vitamin C, also help the body to repair itself after long bouts of stress and illness and aid in protecting the body in the future.
• Vegetables are loaded with fiber. Because of the high levels of fiber in veggies, the digestive system can remain healthier, cleaner, and more toned, like a well kept sports car. Just like your body’s muscles, the digestive system needs to remain sleek and able to process foods. When you eat more fiber, the insides of your digestive system can remain clear and healthy, allowing you to avoid issues with constipation and irregularity, not to mention colon cancers and polyps. Many people may be depriving themselves of Fiber because of a lack of veggies. So the next time you feel constipated and queasy in the stomach, it may be a sign that you need more fiber in your diet.
• By adding vegetables in your meals, you will be able to consume the essential amino acids that your body needs to survive.
• Vegetables also contain high levels of water, which allows them to be fat free and low in calories. This is a plus for those that are watching their calories and want to lose weight the proper way. Combined with the fiber, eating vegetables also tends to make a person feel fuller for a longer period of time, and curbs unnecessary urges for snacks.
• Eating vegetables is quite simple and hassle free for anyone to add to their diets. Some companies have gone so far as to create snack packs of vegetables that you can bring with you anywhere; work, school, trip, you name it. Salad mixes are also on grocery store shelves, making it convenient and easy to eat your greens any night of the week. If you prefer the liquid brand you can also try vegetable juices as well as fruit and vegetable juice smoothies for an additional option. Maybe with these tips, you’ll be able to obey your Mom...... for once.
